Nifty 50 ended the trading session at 11,341.70, recorded a gain of 0.36%. Nifty ended with gains owing to logging gains led mainly by banking and energy stocks. Sectorial Indexes like Bank, Realty, Energy Indexes were in the gainer side with a gain of 1.55%,0.59%, 0.32% respectively while FMCG, IT, Auto, Metal, Pharma, Media Indexes were on the lower side with a loss of 0.10%, 0.27%, 0.40%, 1.88%, 1.88%, 2.04% respectively.
Bank Index was the topmost gainer of today's trading session which has recorded a gain of1.55%. Shares of IndusInd Bank, YES Bank, HDFC Bank, SBI, ICICI Bank, Federal Bank, IDFC First Bank, Bank of Baroda were the gainers with a gain of 4.32%, 3.56%, 2.67%,2.42%, 0.76%, 0.72%, 0.10%, 0.09% respectively while shares of RBL Bank, Axis Bank, PNB, Kotak Bank were the losers with a loss of 0.86%, 0.58%, 0.41%, 0.11% respectively.
Realty Index has a decent gain of 0.59% with shares of Sun Teck, DLF, India bulls real-estate, Prestige gained by 3.40%, 2.10%, 2.09%, 0.85% respectively while shares of Godrej Properties, Sobha, Oberoi Realty, Phoenix Ltd, Brigade, Mahindra Lifespace were the losers with a loss of 1.93%, 1.86%, 0.66%, 0.52%, 0.28%, 0.13% respectively.
Energy Index closed at 16,041.80, recorded a gain of 0.32%. Stocks like Hindustan Petroleum, Reliance, Tata Power were the gainers with a gain of 2.35%, 1.33%, 1.09% respectively whereas IOC, NTPC, ONGC, Reliance Infra, Powergrid, Gail, BPCL were the losers with a loss of 3.67%, 2.38%, 1.32%, 1.26%, 0.81%, 0.38%, 0.21% respectively.
FMCG Index has a downward momentum during the trading session which recorded a loss of of0.10%. Shares of HUL, GSK Cons, ITC were the gainers in this index with a gain of 0.79%,0.79%, 0.17% while stocks like Marico, UBL, Dabur, Jubilant food works Limited,Tata Global, USL, Godrej Industries Limited, Colgate Palmolive, Britannia, Emami Ltd, PGHH, Godrej Products were the losers with a loss of 2.47%, 2.09%, 1.63%, 1.58%, 0.93%, 0.90%, 0.75%, 0.59%, 0.42%, 0.21%, 0.06%,0.02% respectively .
IT Index has witnessed a loss of 0.27% which closed at 15,342.90. Shares of HCL Tech, Mind tree, NIIT TCS,Infosys, Tata Elaxi were having positive notes with a gain of 1.20%, 0.88%, 0.58%, 0.29%, 0.07% respectively while shares of Infibeam, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, OFSS, TCS were having negative notes with a loss of 1.92%, 1.83%, 1.38%, 1.08%, 0.87% respectively .
Auto Index has lose 0.40% with shares of Bosch Ltd, Tata Motors DVR, Tata Motors, Mother Son Sumi System, Maruti, Mahindra & Mahindra, Apollo tyre,TVS Motors lose by 2.66%, 1.94%, 1.87%,1.76%, 0.88%, 0.58%, 0.31%, 0.20% respectively whereas shares of Eicher Motors, Ashok Leyland, Bharat forge, Amara Raja Batteries Limited, MRF, Bajaj Auto, Exide Industries Limited, Hero Moto Corp were the gainers, gained by 1.50%, 1.34%,1.11%, 0.56%, 0.46%, 0.11%, 0.06% respectively.
Metal Index closed at 2,985.75, recorded a loss of 1.88%. Shares of NMDC, APL Apollo, Hindustan Zinc were the gainers with a gain 1.65%, 1.54%, 0.93% respectively while shares of Sail, National Aluminium, Welcorp, Vedanta Limited, Jindal Stainless Limited, Moil, Tata Steel, Hindustan copper, JSW Steel, Jindal Steel, Coal India, Hindalco were the losers with a loss of 4.45%, 3.39%, 2.80%, 2.60%, 2.57%, 2.52%, 2.10%, 2.09%, 1.99%, 1.96%, 1.46%, 0.69% respectively.
Pharma Index has registered a loss of 1.88% which closed at 9,100.25 . shares of Lupin, Sun Pharma, Biocon, Divi's Lab, Cadila healthcare, PEL, Cipla, Auro Pharma, Glenmark, Dr. Reddy were the losers with a loss of 4.45%, 3.13%, 2.93%, 1.82%, 1.59%, 1.38%, 1.07%, 0.81%, 0.65%,0.44% respectively.
Media Index was the top loser of today's trading session which recorded a loss of 2.04%. Stocks like Zee Media, Hathway, DB corp were in the gainer side with a gain of 1.52%, 0.18%, 0.18% respectively while shares of Zee Limited, Dish TV, Eros Media, UFO, Network18,DEN, Sun TV, TV Today, Jagran, PVR, TV18 Broadcast were in the lower side with a loss of 3.41%, 2.71%, 2.58%, 2.03%, 1.81%, 1.76%, 0.98%,0.94%,0.62%, 0.40%, 0.27% respectively.
